Biography
Mohammad Hafeez is a former Pakistani all-rounder who played across three decades, serving as opener, spinner and occasional captain. Born on 17 October 1980 in Sargodha, he made his international debut in 2003 and became one of Pakistan's most durable cricketers.
Career
Hafeez scored 6,665 ODI runs, 3,652 Test runs and 2,514 T20I runs, while taking over 350 international wickets with his off-spin — one of the few players to achieve the double of 5,000 runs and 100 wickets in ODIs. His opening partnerships and his canny bowling made him a vital cog in the Pakistan side for years. He was part of the 2009 T20 World Cup-winning team and the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy-winning squad, and he captained Pakistan in all three formats at various points.
His career was notable for his longevity — he retired from international cricket in 2021-22 at age 41 — and his remarkable fitness regime, which kept him competitive into his forties.
